This painting began with the image of a baby boy reaching out to the world, bringing light and illumination—reflecting my belief that my generation and our children will have a profound impact on the world. As I painted, I was listening to Ruth B’s Paper Airplanes, which inspired me to include a paper airplane and a child blowing bubbles to symbolize the innocence of the next generation.
Each bubble contains a delicate dream, only made real through true commitment. The young boy bursts the bubble shaped like Africa—accepting the mission to create change, beginning with the continent at the heart of it all.
